Coach John Wooden
John Wooden
(The "Wizard of Westwood")
is perhaps the greatest basketball coach in
all of college/university history. His teams won national
championships in: 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971,
1972, 1973 and 1975 with seven national championships
in a row for UCLA. The Coach had 88 consecutive victories
with 38 consecutive NCAA tournament wins and 8 PAC-8 crowns.
A very humble man that internalized his father's teaching of
honesty, decency, virtue and his 7-creeds. For all of life he
had what he called: MAXIMS (short one liners for life and living).
